Tourism on the waiver is not a work trip
The visa-free FAQ we read excludes work, study, and journalism.
The FAQ checked on 12 October 2026 allows business, tourism, visiting family or friends, exchange, and transit, for no more than 30 days, for the passports on that list. It names work, study, and news coverage as outside the waiver.
A laptop in a cafe is not the question. A job, a filming assignment, or a semester is a different permission. If the reason you are going is one of those, the waiver page is the wrong page to rely on.
